ANNOUNCEMENT: Recently, Shroudoom development has resumed. Full version hopefully coming soon :D
You enter a universe unlike any other with a single objective: Get to the lamp
Built over the course of a week for Brackeys Game Jam 2022.2 with the theme, "You are not alone".
This game may be picked up as a virus by certain antivirus software. I can ensure you that this is not a virus, although I understand that a file called Shroudoom.exe looks a little sketchy.
Controlls:
Movement - WASD or arrow keys
Change Flashlight Position - Mouse
Font Used:
- Thaleah Fat Free Pixel Font (Free Pixel Font - Thaleah | 2D Fonts | Unity Asset Store)
Other than the font, all assets were made by me or included with Unity, the game engine I used for this project.
Known Bugs:
- Completion of the game might cause you to become cooler.
Inspiration:
I knew when I joined this game jam that I wanted to make a bullet hell. My fascination with this genre started with Undertale and has never ended. When I heard the theme was "You are not alone," I immediately thought of the ghosts from Mario that only move when you are looking away. One week later, I had this. I knew I wanted to have something with the word dark or light in the title because this game is about lights, but while looking through synonyms, I found the word shroud. I plugged it into a game name generator and got "Shroudoom".
This is the first time I have ever attempted a challenge like this, and I would love to hear how people feel about the game. I would love to see people sharing their scores in the comments! After playtesting the first few levels of Shroudoom, I realized I had accidently created a rage game, so apologies in advance.
